Deputy Managing Partner, UK and Group Head of Technology
Stephen Edwards, group head of technology and deputy managing partner for the firm’s U.K. practice, advises on government engagement strategies for a number of Interel’s largest association clients in the U.K., including the Project Management Institute, ISACA, and the Business Software Alliance.
His particular areas of expertise include public procurement and public services and cybersecurity policy. He has developed market entry strategies for SMEs interested in cybersecurity, and is currently spearheading a global campaign to restore trust in the Internet for global association IEEE, with a particular focus on security, privacy, and data protection/localization.
At the start of his career, Stephen was a researcher at the Foreign Policy Centre, where he organized conferences and wrote publications on the U.K.’s future relationship with Europe. He also has both central government experience with a transport agency and local government experience through a project on environmental transformation in the tourism industry that he ran for the Stratford District Council.
A member of the Project Management Institute and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, Stephen worked on the Mersey Gateway transport infrastructure campaign, which won him two U.K public affairs awards by CIPR.
Stephen holds both a bachelor’s in government and a master’s in European Politics and Policy from the London School of Economics. He serves as a school governor in North London and branch secretary for the Labour Party at the local level.
