Martin Becker

Deputy Managing Director

Martin Becker is deputy managing director at the Berlin office of Interel, where he is responsible for both internal business development and advising clients. His areas of expertise include energy policy, environment and climate policy, oil and gas/exploration and production, urban development, construction, foreign affairs, international relations and public diplomacy, defense, security, and the chemical industry.

Prior to joining Interel, Martin was deputy head of office at Burson-Marsteller. Before that, he was a director at FleishmanHillard, an analyst with Weber Shandwick, and a campaigner in the 1999 European elections in which his task was motivating young people to vote. For more than ten years, he has been a member of De’ge’pol, the German Association of Political Consultants.

Born in Cologne and raised in southern Germany at Lake Constance, Martin has now lived in Berlin for the past 26 years. In his free time, he enjoys sailing.

Martin speaks German and English fluently, and holds a diploma in social sciences (political science and sociology) from Humboldt University.
