George McGregor is Managing Partner at Interel’s London office, where he leads the U.K. practice. He is also Chair of the Interel Global Partnership, the world’s largest network of independent public affairs and government relations consultancies.
At Interel, George works with a wide range of blue-chip clients, providing strategic counsel, devising their public affairs strategies and lobbying campaigns. Among the clients he has advised are Alibaba, Budweiser Brewing Group, Coca-Cola, John Lewis and Partners, Expedia, Nissan, Red Bull, Rio Tinto, Royal Dutch Shell, SABMiller and Virgin Group to name but a few.
In the 2018 Public Affairs Awards, he won the awards for Outstanding Achievement and Best Campaign. George is listed in PRWeek’s “Power Book” of the U.K.’s leading communications professionals. George is also Co-Chair of the UK Public Affairs Board, the pre-eminent body for public affairs professionals in the UK.
George’s career in public affairs has spanned 30 years. Earlier in his career, he was special adviser to the Secretary of State for Scotland. In this role he promoted the integrity of the UK and ensured a smooth working relationship between the British and Scottish governments. Prior to that, he was head of policy for UNISON Scotland, an economist for the Employment Department, and a Washington, D.C.-based researcher for U.S. Congressman Flake from New York’s sixth district.
A native of the Scottish Highlands, George graduated from the University of Glasgow with an M.A. (Hons) in Economics and Politics.
