Training in-house teams to manage a crisis

Our client’s core expertise is in marine heavy lifting, mostly for civil construction, oil and gas, environment and salvage projects. The very nature of their work means they are exposed to a wide array of potential crises including highly visible industrial incidents. They asked Interel to help them to prepare their communication teams for events of this kind, in order to safeguard the firm’s reputation.

How we helped: We worked with the client to conduct a thorough risk analysis and identify the scenarios which posed the biggest threats to the company. On the basis of this analysis, we developed a crisis management manual detailing the procedures to be put in place when a crisis emerges. We also devised appropriate generic messaging to be used in such circumstances. Finally, we used real life simulations of crisis situations to train the client’s in-house crisis management teams to respond effectively to crisis situations.
