Identifying opportunities for an association
IEEE, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, is a professional association and is the world’s largest association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members in chapters around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines
How we helped:
Interel conducted a policy Audit and Stakeholder mapping for IEEE, and established a “standards competency” to demonstrate Interel’s understanding of IEEE Standards, the global standards development process, and the IEEE Standards Association
The contract included fulfilling the role of a “physical presence” in Brussels on behalf of the IEEE Standards Association, which includes nurturing IEEE’s relationships in the EU with standards setting bodies, the European Commission (EC), industry and other stakeholders.
Interel has also provided tracking and coordination of IEEE Smart Grid activities in the EU. Through its outreach and its regular scanning of the EU technology environment, Interel also made recommendations of other potential market-based opportunities for IEEE, alongside with suggestions on how to capitalize on those opportunities.
