Interel’s Belgian team was recognised for delivering truly exceptional results for D’Ieteren Auto in its ‘Volkswagen and emissions: defusing the crisis in Belgium’ campaign in the face of what was a very public crisis.
Providing impact through the integrated management of stakeholders, we developed strategies for customers, politicians, car dealers and the media in order to provide strong customer care and restore confidence. We also organised an event at the D’Ieteren motor museum in Brussels to raise awareness amongst CEOs of how the crisis was handled and emphasising that when managed correctly it is possible to limit the financial impact – a significant measure of the success of our campaign.
Denis Gorteman, CEO of D’Ieteren Auto, says: “Constant anticipation, permanent availability, fully dedicated advisors, well-thought communication strategy, easy access to key stakeholders: this is a non-exhaustive overview of the added value provided by Interel that helped D’Ieteren Auto to manage the biggest communication crisis that the official Importer of Volkswagen AG in Belgium has ever faced in its history.”
This has been a remarkable year for Interel in which it has had a number of exciting global client wins, including Alibaba, General Mills, the Optical Society of America, Taser, Viking Cruises and Home Away, and rolled out innovative new products, including a video advocacy toolkit.
In addition, we won SABRE Benelux Consultancy of the Year earlier this year in recognition of the fact that we are one of the few Brussels-based consultancies which has truly gone global.
Baudouin Velge, Managing Partner of Interel in Belgium, says: “We are very proud of this achievement, which is a testament to the hard work of an exceptional team who are determined to deliver only the best for our clients. The D’Ieteren Auto campaign is just one of many standout campaigns that have helped us achieve a reputation as one of the leading public affairs and communications agencies in Brussels. 2016 has been an outstanding year for us and we will endeavour to make 2017 even better.”
