Laurent-Paul Van Steirtegem has been a partner at Interel since 2010. He is a member of the management team, and leads on strategic communications engagements for clients across industries. His most recent work includes assignments in crisis communications, litigation communications, reputation management, public affairs and corporate communications.
Laurent joined Interel from the Boston Consulting Group, where as a management consultant he advised clients on strategy definition, turnaround management and change management. Between 2005 and 2007, he was a Senior Consultant with Interel advising clients on government relations, corporate communications and crisis communications. Prior to that, Laurent was in the Belgian Diplomatic Service and served at the Permanent Representation to the EU Council of Ministers.
In addition to his role with Interel, Laurent is a professor of media relations at the University of Louvain, and sits on the executive committee of Goods To Give, an organisation redistributing surplus consumer goods from manufacturers and retailers to Belgian charities.
Laurent holds an MSc in Management and an MA in International Relations, both from the University of Louvain, and received his MBA from INSEAD. He is fluent in English, French and Dutch, and conversational in Italian.
