Tracking issues, building strategy

EDF is a French electric utility company and the world’s largest producer of electricity. EDF operates a diverse portfolio of generation capacity in Europe, South America, North America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

How we helped: Interel developed an advocacy strategy in the context of the examination in the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union of the Third package for Electricity & Gas markets, on the issue of ownership unbundling.

Interel provided tailored intelligence reports on the progress of the parliamentary procedure and on the positions of the Member states. The lobbying strategy allowed EDF to widen its scope of influence and improve its notoriety as industrial leader in the field of energy. Interel also identified potential MEP’s “champions” for the French company and designed a precise program of meetings within the Parliament to efficiently relay its interests and positions.

Interel provided EDF with all the documents necessary (brochures, Q&A…) to communicate with the institutions and the stakeholders and with regular monitoring reports and updates
