Helping an association to grow

ISPO (The International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics) is a global multidisciplinary association dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with physical impairments. Founded in the early 1970s, the Association continued to expand to the point where it could no longer manage its increasing number of activities and responsibilities within its existing structure.

How we helped: We started by preparing an assessment of ISPO’s needs based on feedback obtained at a strategic workshop. We worked with ISPO to distill the outcomes of the workshop and use them to determine mid- and long-term priorities and objectives. ISPO then tasked us with providing full association management services. We began our mandate by focusing on consolidating and building efficient processes. This freed up volunteers to focus on the strategic task of moving the organization forward. We have also partnered with ISPO to define its value proposition and communicate its activities through a number of different channels. As a result, ISPO has gained in professionalism and efficiency and continues to grow its outreach activities by launching new programs, building partnerships, and participating in global initiatives.
